NEP 2020 envisions an education system where opportunities are equal for all learners, ensuring that no child is left behind.

3. Quality

Quality education forms the core of NEP 2020. It promotes conceptual understanding, critical thinking, creativity, and innovation over rote learning. The policy encourages curriculum restructuring, interactive learning environments, and continuous teacher development. It also emphasizes the integration of technology, vocational skills, and multidisciplinary learning to equip students with future-ready competencies.

4. Affordability

The fourth pillar, Affordability, seeks to make education financially accessible to all. The policy advocates for reduced tuition fees, government-supported institutions, and scholarship programs that enable students from all backgrounds to pursue education without financial constraints. NEP 2020 recognizes education as a public good and ensures that financial challenges never become a barrier to learning.

5. Accountability

The fifth and final pillar, Accountability, focuses on responsibility and transparency in the education system.
